Wonderful and funny writing! Oh, to be a guy in the 70’s. I’m taking this more personally than I should as I can’t think of one person who would steal my corpse. Didn’t they do this with Barrymore? All his drunko buddies partied with his corpse one last time Weekend at Bernie’s style?
Thanks for this one Amy. Gram was always a hero of mine. I've made the pilgrimage to his current resting place in Metairie on several occasions... while it's not Joshua Tree like he wished...it isn't a bad memorial either. One of the few things that makes living in Louisiana worthwhile.
Your telling (or retelling) is beautiful and lively. So weird how much stricter things have gotten over the years. Thanks for writing!
I love this!
Thanks and thank you for reading!

I don’t know about Barrymore, but yeah friends like Phil are hard to find. 😉 Thanks for reading!
I went down the rabbit hole. John Barrymore, yes. Errol Flynn and other Hollywood legends took him for a spin, allegedly.
And yet it was the women who were forced into asylums.

That’s quite a story. Thanks for sharing.
